Are you and your partner feeling stuck, uncertain whether to stay together or part ways? Discernment Counselling is a focused, short-term process designed for couples who are on the brink of separation but not yet sure what direction to take.

Unlike traditional couples therapy that works on solving relationship problems, Discernment Counseling helps you and your partner:

 

  • Gain clarity and confidence about the future of your relationship.

  • Understand the dynamics that have brought you to this point.

  • Explore options: stay the course, separate, or commit to working on the relationship through therapy.

 

 How It Works

 

  • Typically 1 to 5 sessions.

  • Each partner has time both together and one-on-one with the therapist.

  • The focus is on understanding, not on quick fixes or solutions.

 

Who It’s For

 

  • Couples where one or both partners are ambivalent about continuing the relationship.

  • Couples considering separation or divorce but wanting to explore all options first.

 

At the end of this process, you will have a clearer sense of the path that feels right for both of you.
